1966 Caravan of Stars Tour - Summer Edition

Dick Clark returned to the Caravan of Stars format in late summer of 1966.  The  Where the Action Is cast was deep into filming the next season's worth of shows.  This particular tour has been difficult to document owing partially to the fact that there were no major talents in the line-up.

  1. No major talents in this show? Really?
At the time, The Happenings had the #3 song in the country, Lou Christie's "Lightning Strikes Again" was a perennial #1 song artist, The Strangeloves had 4 top 40 hits within the previous 12 months including 3 top 20 songs, and The Capitols song, "Cool Jerk" was the #7 song in the country just a month before.
