Thank you for this post, which I Googled earlier today because I wanted to find the talent for these concerts in response to a query on Facebook. I was at the November 10 show at the Bushnell Auditorium in Hartford, when I was four. My mother and I sat in the front row, and at some point Dick Clark came over to me and thrust the mic in my face and asked me some questions.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Nov. 25, 1963 at Nashville also showing up in red?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic lineup.
ReplyDeleteHey Jerry,
ReplyDeleteWe've probably communicated in the past. I used to write a rock & roll blog called 4d5 rpm, and I did a series of several posts about this fall '63 tour and wove into it the occasionally suggested theory about the connection between JFK's assassination and the rise of the Beatles in America. If you're able to post videos on you blog, I encourage you to add this - you may have already viewed it. It's Myron Lee's home movies he made while on the tour. I interviewed him on the phone a few years back. I was able to contact him through youtube messages. We were on the phone for over an hour. He's a great guy, and was so awesome to talk to. Here's that youtube link to his home movies of the tour. https://youtu.be/G-JiH2O8mHk
Best regards,
ken edwards
btw:I just added my first post to 4d5 rpm in 7 years just the other day. It's an in depth look at all the covers of Tony Hatch's composition, "Call Me."
you left out November 29,1963 at the Canton, Ohio Memorial Auditorium. I have the newspaper ad
ReplyDeleteI was talking to Linda Scott earlier today and she told me she had been in Dallas for this concert tour when JFK was shot. That seemed a little far-fetched but I googled the tour name and this came up.
